Unfair lending by catalogue companies happen when they offer credit or continue to raise your credit limit without considering if you can actually afford to pay back what you owe. Credit limits on these types of accounts can start quite low but then can gradually be increased by the provider.
Why does it matter?
Lenders should make checks into your true financial situation before offering you more credit. That way they can check whether you can sustain repayments on the account. If your catalogue company did not complete these checks, you may be able to make a claim.
